Helping Stressed-Out Busy Professional Women Bring Calm to Their Lives

Introducing online therapy for stressed and overwhelmed women in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Maryland

As a woman, you carry a lot on your shoulders all day, every day.

Do you ever just want to hit the pause button on life even for just a second so that you can get caught up, or even just take a breath?

Or escape to a tropical paradise, bring your besties, some rum punch, and your favorite deserted island food (mine is pizza BTW, so cliche I know)?

Do you long to find that spark again in life about something, really anything again?

If this is you, then you are in the right spot!

I’m Laura

I specialize in working with stressed-out and overwhelmed busy professional women who believe they have to cross off all the things on their to-do list before they can start enjoying the life they desire. The problem is that list is never-ending and if this keeps up you will never get there.

Headshot of Larua Rippeon, the owner of Calm Waters Counseling. She is an anxiety therapist in Wilmington, NC. Contact her for anxiety therapy, online therapy in North Carolina, and online therapy in Maryland.

I help you to rearrange priorities so that you can have the life you desire and check tasks off the list, all while learning;

  • How to be more present in your life

  • To find clarity about the things that matter the most to you

  • Practical tools to manage stress and overwhelm

  • To quiet that negative voice and replace it with kindness and compassion

  • How to get back control of your life by actually making healthier choices

I am a licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina and Maryland and I have been on the therapy scene since the Twilight movies began hitting the big screen…

which means I have been doing this therapy thing for a hot minute.

I understand overwhelmed professional women because I’ve been there.

I was one.

In 2019, I decided to take things into my own hands, reduce my stress and overwhelm and create the work-life harmony I desired and opened up my own therapy practice to help other stressed-out high-achieving women reduce their stress and create the work-life harmony they crave.

Since then I have been able to help more women like the old me get back to the life that they want. I know what helps and the two of us will figure out what will help you personally get your life back.

My Mission – To provide therapy and support to stressed-out and overwhelmed busy professional women so they can be more present personally and professionally, create a healthier work-life harmony, and take action to live the life they want

Often it can be scary to look for a therapist whether you’ve been to therapy before or this is the first time.

Finding a therapist is about finding the right fit.

When we work together don’t be surprised if…

  • We are actively doing things in session – I like to introduce new skills or lead my clients through mindfulness exercises

  • I encourage you to put things into practice outside of our sessions

  • We share some laughs together

  • I drop a curse word or two (or three or four) in a therapy session. I encourage you to do the same if you’d like.

  • I show up to the session wearing casual attire. But just because I take a casual approach doesn’t mean that I’m not here to work.

I take your therapy seriously but I want us both to be comfortable doing it.

If this sounds good to you…
